    The THA administers four housing programs, Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), Affordable Housing, and Veteran's Assistance. Resident Programs (FSS and Resident Opportunities Self-Sufficiency are also available to THA residents.
    THA has a full time certified maintenance program and its own Finance Department. The overall policy making authority is the seven member Board of Commissioners. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides funding.

Resident Assistance Programs:

    • FSS

    • The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is a HUD sponsored effort to assist families to become economically self-sufficient. FSS participants sign a five-year contract, during which time they complete an educational or vocational program, obtain employment, and become free from government assistance. 
    • ROSS

    • The Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) Program is a program for public housing residents that links the resident with supportive services, resident empowerment activities, and assistance in becoming economically self-sufficient. The THA ROSS program is administered through the Orange Avenue United Tenant's Association, Inc. tenants organization. For more information please contact the OAUTA office at (850) 224-2143 or
    • Tenants Organization

    • The resident organization active within the Tallahassee Housing Authority is "OAUTA" (Orange Avenue United Tenants Association). Iranetta Williams is the Executive Director of the association.
