THA Welcomes New BOC Member - Iris A. Elijah

Iris A. Elijah serves as the Deputy General Counsel of Florida A&M University since 2023. Previously, Ms. Elijah served as the Associate General Counsel at Florida International University, Assistant General Counsel of the State University System of Florida Board of Governors, Assistant General Counsel at Florida A&M University, and Junior Associate General Counsel at Florida International University. Ms. Elijah is a graduate of Florida International University College of Law and the University of South Florida. Ms. Elijah is an active member of several legal and civic organizations including as Chair-Elect of The Florida Bar Council of Sections, member of the Annual Conference committee of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, Treasurer of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Foundation, member of the Miami Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Past President of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Additionally Ms. Elijah has received national and state recognitions such as 40 Under 40 from the National Bar Association, University of South Florida Outstanding Young Alumni, and the Florida International University Charles E. Perry Young Visionary and she is the benefactor of The Elijah Family Scholarship at the University of South Florida.
